Caution!
Knocking ‘em cold in black and gold!
That’s money, Honey!
Born this way, Baby!
Paws up Little Monsters!
Runaway Bride!
Seeing some guy dressed up as a bride in the East Village is no shock. I always laugh when people from out of town get stressed out about dressing up for New York. You could go out in your pajamas and nobody would care! That’s not necessarily a bad thing if you live here. Unlike some European cities, people watching is not really part of New York culture. We are all way too self involved here and walking on the street is just to get from point A to point B, stroll the kids or walk the dog. They say you always know the tourists in NYC because they are looking up. The rest of us just look down at the street to avoid collisions as we navigate through the crowd.
Doing this project was a little uncomfortable at first, because it required us to not only observe people, but approach them. Thankfully, with time, our awareness improved, as did our courage.
